Working Women Hostel


Our Branch has established a Working Women Hostel at Faridkot un der the grant-in-aid scheme of Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resources Development, New Delhi. The total cost of the project is Rs. 25 lacs out of which an amount of Rs. 8 lacs was spent by the District Red Cross Branch. The hostel has a facility to provide accommodation to 50 women/students. The facilities of entertainment and indoor games are also available. The annual cost of the Project is Rs.1.75 lacs.

WOMEN HELP LINE
Women Helpline was setup under Swadhar Scheme of Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India during February, 2006. The Women Helpline has registered and helped 256 cases of women & girls in distress. 

ANGANWADI WORKERS' TRAINING CENTRE 
The Centre has been accommodated in the Working Women Hostel. 

SHORT STAY HOME
The Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi has sanctioned a Short Stay Home for the Women & Girls in distress. The annual cost of the project is Rs.3.50 lacs. Free boarding, lodging, vocational training and rehabilitation facilities are available for 30 women/girls.

DRESS DESIGNING CENTRE
Dress Designing Centre is situated in the premises of Working Women Hostel . 50 girls received training in cutting, tailoring and embroidary etc. This training has been imparted under the supervision of qualified teachers. The aim is to make the girls/women of needy families self-supporting. An application has been forwarded to the Central Social Welfare Board New Delhi for the sanction of 5th batch and on the receipt of approval from the Board, a new training centre will be started at Kotkaupra for girls/women of needy families. Annual budget of the Project is  Rs. 100000/-.
